Route 66’s centenary celebrations will make a European stop at Essen Motor Show 2026. Created with Original Drivestyle Department, the special exhibition “100 Years of Route 66” will explore American car culture through classic vehicles and references to film and television.
Eight states as a guide
The display follows the eight states along the historic route. For Illinois, the organiser lists a 1974 Dodge Monaco presented as the Bluesmobile from The Blues Brothers. Missouri will be represented by the Chevrolet Corvette, while an International Harvester Scout II stands for Kansas.
Further stops include a 1957 Cadillac paying tribute to Texas’s Cadillac Ranch, a television reference in New Mexico and a Lightning McQueen tribute in Arizona. California provides the finale through lowrider culture, with its elaborate paintwork and individual craftsmanship. The press photographs include a 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air.
When to visit
Essen Motor Show runs from 28 November to 6 December 2026, with a Preview Day on 27 November. Messe Essen says more than 500 exhibitors from 19 countries will attend, covering classic cars, motorsport, tuning and production vehicles.
Tickets are available through the official website. The organiser states that ticket counters at the venue will accept cashless payments only. Check current opening hours and ticket conditions before travelling.
