Record participation as Automechanika Shanghai opens

Automechanika Shanghai 2025 opens tomorrow with the show’s strongest participation to date. A total of 7,465 exhibitors from 44 countries and regions will fill 383,000 square metres at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). For the first time, all 15 halls are in use, signalling the event’s growing scale and global reach.

Activities begin today with the International Automotive Industry Conference 2025 – CEO Summit. The gathering brings executives together to discuss current challenges and the road ahead for mobility. Organisers say the expanded show footprint and exhibitor mix reflect the strength of China’s automotive ecosystem and the platform’s value for international access. Moreover, a packed fringe programme of 94 events and over 450 speakers will keep the focus on innovation, sustainability, and collaboration across the supply chain.

Industry leaders add that China’s rise in sales, production, and new energy vehicle development is drawing more international attention. As a result, more automakers are transitioning from visitors to active participants, using the show to grow global presence and strengthen supply networks.

Global brands and supply chains on show

Across the fair, leading car brands will showcase solutions for both fuel-powered and new energy vehicles. Participating names include Chery Holding, GAC Aion, Li Auto, Qingling Motors, and Tesla. In addition, supply chain subsidiaries and component makers form a core part of the showcase. Visitors will meet companies such as CZAG, FAW Foundry & Forging, FAWER, HPT, Qingshan Industry, SAIC, Stellantis, TSINTEL Technology under WeiChai, Wuling Industry, and Yuchai Parts.

The exhibition aims to connect research and development with manufacturing, sales, and after-sales services.
