Pebble Beach Concours Fuels Record Charity Impact
Charities Receive Record-Setting $4 Million in Donations from 2025 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance
A Record Year of Giving
The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance marked a milestone this year, raising a record $4 million for charity. Organizers began putting the funds to work immediately to improve children’s health and education across the region. Donations were formally distributed at a celebratory luncheon at The Lodge at Pebble Beach. The atmosphere was festive, yet the focus remained squarely on impact.
Concours Chair Sandra Button underscored the event’s dual purpose. The gathering exists to celebrate great cars and great people, she said. Yet it also exists to lift the community. “We are fortunate that celebrating something we love can also benefit many people,” she noted. That mindset continues to shape the event’s mission.
A Legacy Built Over Generations
Since 1950, the Concours has raised more than $45 million for charitable causes. Organizers now aim to push that total to $50 million by the 75th Concours in August 2026. Hitting that mark will require another record in 2026, with a new annual goal of $5 million. The ambition reflects decades of steady growth and community support.
However, the story began modestly. When Button joined the event in 1986, total giving had not yet reached $1 million. Early donations were often just a few thousand dollars. Proceeds mostly came from program and poster sales. What started as a passion project has steadily evolved into a philanthropic force.
Powered by a Community of Partners
Today, the Concours draws strength from a wide network of supporters. Entrants, judges, sponsors, and volunteers all contribute. They work closely with the Pebble Beach Concours staff and Pebble Beach Company to elevate the show and expand charitable giving. That teamwork fuels both excellence on the field and generosity off it.
“The Concours is truly a community effort,” said Pebble Beach Company CEO David Stivers. He emphasized that the event’s success depends on many hands. Because so many people pitch in, the impact continues to grow. Gratitude, he added, belongs to everyone involved.
As a result, the Concours has matured into a cultural and charitable anchor for the Monterey Peninsula. Each year builds on the last, with new partnerships and fresh ideas. The model blends tradition with innovation, and it delivers measurable results.
Where the Money Goes: Children First
Through its primary charitable partner, Pebble Beach Company Foundation, the Concours supports more than 100 regional nonprofits. The emphasis is clear: children’s health and education come first. Grants help clinics, classrooms, and community programs expand their reach. Families benefit directly, and young people gain new pathways to thrive.
Additionally, the annual charity drawing adds momentum. This year’s drawing received generous support from Mercedes-Benz, INFINITI, and Lincoln. Proceeds directly benefited several groups, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County, Montage Health Foundation, MY Museum, Natividad Foundation, Salinas Valley Health Foundation, Seneca Family of Agencies, and United Way Monterey County. These investments translate into services that matter on the ground.
The Concours and the Foundation also champion education tied to automotive culture. Programs encourage the next generation of enthusiasts and professionals. They honor the legacies of leaders like Phil Hill, Jules “J.” and Sally Heumann, John Lamm, and Don Williams. Their passion continues to inspire learning, craftsmanship, and stewardship.
Looking Ahead to a Historic 75th
The 75th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will take place on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at The Lodge at Pebble Beach. Organizers plan tributes to Pebble Beach Road Racing greats and special groupings never before seen at the event. The program will honor the past while inviting new audiences. It promises a once-in-a-generation celebration.
The 2026 field will feature Ferrari and Vignale, alongside American Speedsters and Classic Streamliners. Land Speed Record Cars and Japanese Motorsports will also take center stage. Additional curated classes will be announced in the coming months. Ticket sales open soon, and interest is already rising.
