MCACN 2025: Stories Behind the Shine

The Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals capped its 16th year in Rosemont, Illinois, with a packed house and fresh energy. For many enthusiasts, the indoor show now bookends the Thanksgiving holiday like a family tradition. It has also become a must-see stop for serious collectors and first-time visitors alike. This year, Mopar metal took center stage with a Hemi B-Body Convertible Invitational on the red carpet. The A-990 and Spring Fever invitationals added more depth and variety.

Beyond the perfect chrome and spotless paint, though, the stories made the cars sing. Owners spoke about chance finds, difficult restorations, epic road trips, and family promises kept. As a result, rare machines turned into personal histories anyone could feel. The show reminded everyone that the human touch is what elevates this hobby. And it is why MCACN continues to inspire year after year.

1971 Plymouth Hemi ’Cuda: A Global Journey Restored

Few names stir Mopar fans like the 1971 Hemi ’Cuda. Only 112 hardtops were built for that model year, with five destined for export. This Tor-Red example, believed to be among the highest optioned of its kind, began life far from U.S. roads. It was sold new in Kuwait, raced across the desert, and even appeared as a prop in a 1970s Egyptian film titled Face to Face. Over time, hard use and modifications took their toll. The quarter panels were hacked, and a sunroof cut into the roof.
